APP LICENSE & TERMS

FairPDF terms

Version 2026-10-09 · Effective October 9, 2026

These terms are between you and F-cubed, the operator of f-3.ai ("we," "us"), for the FairPDF Mac app. Please read them before accepting, purchasing or starting a trial. If you act for an organization, you must have authority to accept for it.

Your consumer rights remain protected. Nothing here excludes rights, remedies or liabilities that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. Where these terms conflict with such rights, the law controls.

1. Your app license

A paid purchase gives you a personal or internal business license to use FairPDF on one Mac at a time. The license is non-exclusive; you own your files, but the app itself is licensed, not sold. Do not share or resell a license key, redistribute the proprietary app, or bypass its license controls. These restrictions do not limit rights granted by applicable law or the licenses of included open-source components.

The paid app license is perpetual and has no recurring app fee. After activation and verification on your Mac, the paid license can be used offline without periodic online renewal. Internet access is needed for initial activation, license recovery and moving the license to another Mac. Deactivate the previous Mac before activating a replacement, or contact support if you cannot access it.

Your purchase covers the app version supplied with it. It does not promise every future major version, perpetual support, compatibility with future operating systems, or continued availability of third-party services or models. This does not affect any updates or support we expressly include with your purchase or must provide under applicable law.

2. Purchases and an optional 30-day trial

The purchase price and any applicable tax are shown before you authorize payment. A direct purchase is a one-time charge, not a subscription.

Where we offer a 30-day trial, a payment card is required upfront. By choosing the trial and separately accepting its payment authorization, you authorize one charge for the disclosed app price on day 30 unless you cancel before the stated charge date. The trial is not a recurring subscription. The trial checkout shows the price, timing and cancellation instructions before you agree.

Use the cancellation link provided with your trial confirmation to cancel before the charge date, or contact support for help. Cancellation prevents the scheduled purchase; paid use requires a completed purchase. Ending a trial does not transfer ownership of your files to us. Statutory cancellation, refund, repair and other consumer remedies remain available where required by law.

3. Your files and creative work

You retain the rights you have in the documents, images, video, prompts and other material you provide. We do not claim ownership of your files or output. You authorize only the processing needed to carry out features you request. These terms do not give us a general right to publish your content or use it to train AI models.

You must have the rights and permissions needed to process and share your content. Ownership and permitted use of AI output may also depend on applicable law and third-party model terms; we do not guarantee that generated material is unique, copyrightable or free of third-party rights.

4. Responsibilities when using FairPDF

FairPDF is a manual PDF editor; its license does not include local AI form filling. Review each document before submitting, signing or relying on it. Check entered text, names, numbers, dates, checkboxes, signatures, page order and field placement. OCR, redaction, editing and export may need correction or verification.

You are responsible for the information you enter, required attachments, filing requirements and deadlines. The app does not provide legal, tax, medical, financial, immigration or other professional advice, and does not guarantee that an agency will accept a document or signature. Only fill or sign for another person with lawful authority. Keep original files and backups, and do not use the app for forgery or false submissions.

Protect your Mac and backups, review permissions before sharing sensitive files, and comply with obligations you owe to clients or other people. Using a local app does not by itself establish compliance with a professional standard or privacy law. These responsibilities do not excuse our own breach of these terms or duties imposed by law.

5. Local processing and network services

FairPDF's core PDF editing runs locally on your Mac. Optional connected or sharing features use the network and send the information needed for the action you choose. A local editing license is not a promise that every optional feature works offline.

Local file processing is separate from purchasing and licensing. Checkout, trial administration, activation, deactivation, license recovery, downloads and update checks use network services. These may process your contact and purchase details, product and app version, license and device identifiers, activation status and timestamps, and ordinary request information such as an IP address. License verification does not require the contents of your working documents, images or videos. Payment card information is handled by our payment processor, Stripe.

Files you deliberately share, sync, back up or send to support are handled by the services you choose. We use information supplied for licensing and support to administer your purchase, prevent misuse and respond to your request; local processing is not a guarantee against device compromise, user-directed sharing or another service's practices.

6. Warranty disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the app and its output are provided "as is" and "as available." Except for promises expressly made with your purchase and rights that cannot lawfully be waived, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise error-free output, uninterrupted operation, a particular generation speed or suitability for every workflow.

Some jurisdictions do not permit these exclusions. In those jurisdictions, required warranties and remedies continue to apply. This clause does not override the product description, any express warranty or our legal obligation to provide conforming digital content.

7. Limits on liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from the app, including lost profits, business opportunities or data, even if advised of their possibility. Subject to the exceptions below, our total liability for claims relating to FairPDF is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the affected app license or US $50.

These exclusions and the cap do not apply to fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability or consumer remedy that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit. Nothing here promises us immunity from a claim or requires you to give up nonwaivable rights.

8. Third-party claims and indemnity

Only to the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify, defend and hold F-cubed and its personnel harmless from third-party claims, resulting judgments or approved settlements, and reasonable defense costs, to the extent caused by your unlawful use of the app, your material breach of these terms, or your violation of another person's rights through content you supply or distribute.

This obligation does not cover a claim to the extent caused by our negligence, fraud, willful misconduct, violation of law or breach of these terms. It does not apply merely because you use the app, because an output is inaccurate, or to your own claim against us. We must notify you promptly, allow reasonable control of the defense and cooperate at your reasonable expense. Neither side may settle a covered claim by admitting fault or imposing a nonfinancial obligation on the other without that party's consent. Mandatory consumer protections prevail.

9. Ending a license and changing these terms

You may stop using the app at any time. A paid license may be ended for a material breach of these terms after notice and a reasonable opportunity to remedy it where a remedy is possible, subject to applicable law. Canceling a trial stops its scheduled purchase; the trial remains usable until its original 30-day expiry. At expiry, continued use requires a paid license. Ending a license does not give us ownership of or a right to delete your files.

The version you accept governs your purchase. We may publish revised terms for future purchases or changes that require renewed agreement; simply posting a revision does not retroactively remove an existing paid license or its agreed rights. Provisions about ownership, lawful liability limits and accrued obligations survive termination to the extent applicable.

10. Questions and applicable law

Contact support@f-3.ai or support about your license, a trial cancellation or a problem with the app. Illinois law governs these terms except where the mandatory law of your place of residence applies. Nothing here prevents you from using a court, regulator or consumer remedy available to you under applicable law. These app terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or a class-action waiver.

These app-specific terms govern FairPDF and take precedence over the separate hosted-service terms for this app. Separately licensed third-party software and models remain governed by their own licenses. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply where lawful.
